Do you have Cellulite?

The fact is, most of us have or will have cellulite, and will be unhappy with it, its part of being female in most cases.  The are lots of creams and potions out there that claim to reduce it, but its not always about expensive treatments.  By making some changes in your lifestyle or daily routines you could see it reduce. Cellulite does not discriminate, so whether you are a size 8 or 18 you could have it.  It is also genetic, so the the chances are if your mom suffered with it, you will too.

I have listed a few things you can do that could help reduce cellulite if you stick to it:

Dry body brushing: I have bought one of these brushes and have started using it before showers. It will only take 5 minutes of your time, and you should do it before you shower or bathe. You should scrub in circular motions and start at the ankles and work towards your heart.  Follow up with body oil or cream to nourish your skin.  Try to use a natural bristle brush which you can buy for about £7.00 on the internet or Boots.

Cardio Exercises: When it comes to the best exercise to beat cellulite,  cardio is the key. This is because the harder you work and the higher you get your heart rate, the more fat you will burn. Interval training is great at doing this, and something we include in our Saturday Body Fit Class.

Water: I am always going on about water and all of its benefits and this is no different. The cellulite under your skin stores toxins, which can increase if you live an unhealthy lifestyle. Water keeps your skin hydrated and flushes out toxins.  Drink at least 2/3 litres per day, and more if you are working out.

Protein: Protein stimulates and strengthens the production of collagen and elastin which keeps cellulite at bay and helps to firm up your muscles that can keep fat stores in place and reduce the dimpled effect of cellulite.

Oily Fish: Eat plenty of oily fish, salmon, tuna and sardines all reduce cholesterol which in turn will boost your circulation and encourage an anti-inflammatory effect.

Avoid full fat dairy and fast foods: Full fat dairy products like cream, butter and cheese are high in saturated fats and are harder for your body to break down. Consider these foods as a treat rather than consuming them on a regular basis.

You may not complete banish cellulite,  but by tweaking your daily routine and embraces some of these tips you could improve the appearance of your skin, so I definitely think they are worth a try.
