Have you put weight on during the lockdown? I have to be honest, I do not know anyone who hasn’t put weight on, including me!
Firstly try not to panic, or beat yourself up. Most of this weight gain is due to comfort eating and drinking and some instances lack of exercise too. I do not believe any single diet/regime works for everyone. I find for myself that mixing some intermittent fasting with planning and freezing healthy meals with an increase in water, works for me. However I am going to offer some pointers that may just help you shed some lbs or inches.
- Remove as much junk food from your cupboards as you can. Try not to waste anything thought, you could give items to a foodbank or similar.
- Plan some healthy meals for the week. Get the kids involved. Use healthy ingredients and freeze for the week ahead
- Reduce sugar in your diet. Sugar turns to fat, and did you know, too much sugar can age the skin too!
- To burn fat, you need to be in a calorie deficit. This means you need to be burning more calories than you consume. Once you are in this range then you should begin to burn fat.
- Increase your water. It seems simple but it is so important. Try to drink at least 2 litres per day and more if you working out. Get yourself a water bottle with measurements on it.
- Give yourself a day or the weekend to enjoy treats. This could include some chocolate, or a drink of your favourite tipple. Avoid consuming treats every day as the pounds will soon pile on.
- Make sure you are getting enough exercise. This may sound obvious too, but in such difficult times we can be tempted to just curl up on the couch and eat! Interval training, low or high is one of the best ways to burn calories, which can be accessed from my online workouts.
- If you are need of some healthy recipes and you are on Facebook you can access my healthy eating with the following link. Alternatively you could join my whatsapp group, as I am currently sharing healthy meals in there too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/476761809198985
Hoping this tips help. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
