This time of year it so easy to fall off the ‘keep fit and healthy’ wagon… but my advice is stay strong now and you will reap the rewards at Christmas and continue in to the new year!  Don’t rely on new year resolutions, they rarely work.

Here are my 5 top tips for staying motivated and keeping fit and healthy.

  1. Change your outlook – Change your mindset from wanting to stay cuddled up on on the couch to thinking like an athlete!  Stay positive and stay strong
  2. Set a goal – Set a realistic goal, weekly or monthly for starters.  When you achieve your goal, treat yourself to an item of workout gear or equipment, not chocolates.
  3. Take regular scheduled exercise – I run 4 classes each week, so there is plenty to choose from. Aim to work out at least 3/4 times per week if you can
  4. Make your exercise fun – Variety and fun is the spice of life and choosing an exercise you enjoy is vital.  You are much more likely to stick to the workout and may not even realize you are keeping fit!
  5. Get Support – Support is a great way to keep motivated. This could come from your family or friends or perhaps from the group you workout with. Ladies that come to my classes say all the time, ‘everyone is so lovely and encouraging’, and this makes all the difference.  Most of us have the same wishes and expectations from classes and it so good to share these thoughts with other like minded individuals.

If you want to feel good in your Christmas outfit and want to keep in shape, stay motivated now!  If you have any questions feel free to message me.
