So it seems finally Summer has arrived and brought some heat with it!  We should all enjoy it,  but be mindfull of protecting the skin, avoiding over exposure to heat and keeping fully hydrated. The heat shouldnt impact working out and as far as my classes go I will make adaptations where necessary when its hot, to ensure safety. For example I will put in lower impact playlists for my dance classes and give lots of lower options too during  our workout.  Of course doors and windows will be open too.

In general when the temperature is high you need to drink more water and wear loser clothing.  I would advise taking a drink of water every 10 mins at least if you are doing cardio in particular, during my dance classes or Saturday morning BodyFit Fusion. The heat does make our bodies work harder so there is potential to burn more calories.  Also Yoga in the heat can have its benefits too, as this can help the body limber up more easily and increase flexibility.  If you are sweating profusely and do not replace these valuable minerals however,  you can experience nausea and muscle cramps in some instances If you would like to order some from me, please drop me a line.

If you are working out, out doors, try to stay away from the hottest part of the day, between 10am and 3pm, and don’t forget your sunscreen.

You dont want to lose any fitness you have built up over time, so please dont avoid exercise altogether. Take lower options if you need and keep well hydrated.  It only take 2 weeks of no exercise for you your fitness levels to drop.

Enjoy the sunshine and hope to see you in classes this week!
