It has been scientifically proven that dancing keeps you young.  The fact you are being physically active but also keeping your brain and memory in action whilst learning the steps and routines, makes dancing the best exercise to stay young. Dancing is proven to be one of the best ways to keep dementia at bay.

I have an age range of 18-76 across my classes but i just wanted to share with you a bit about 2 ladies who come to my Fitsteps class each week, they are both in their 70s! They are pictured in this blog.

They are an inspiration to be honest, as they come to my Fitsteps class week in and week out and always have loads of enthusiasm and spirit.  They do all of the dances in Fitsteps including the lively jives and quicksteps. However if and when they need to, they take the level lower and pace themselves.  I do include some lower impact dances too in Fitsteps and it think its great that we can all work out together,  which is fabulous. If you want to take it higher and get very sweaty then the option is there too!

I have 2 dance classes running each week so there is plenty of chance to get active.  Next time you say to yourself…. ‘Am i too old for this’… just stop… re-trace your steps, and say ‘Of course not’. Dance and exercise should be for everyone, young and old, and all abilities. It is a case of giving lower and higher options to suit everyone.

If you have any questions about my dance classes or being active, please feel free to drop me a line.

Keep Dancing! x
